Stanley Island is South Africa’s only privately owned island. Located on the Keurbooms River in Plettenberg Bay, the island has a combination of forest, beach, and grassland, a tranquil oasis surrounded by water.
We offer the potential to host intimate boutique styled weddings that are personalised and unique to you. Each venue eminates it’s own unique and personal touch whilst providing a canvas to create and enable you to tailor your special day.

A SUMMARY OF OUR VENUES
We have a various venue offerings and are not limited to just our venue spaces. We can curate a beachy boho-chic wedding to a traditional themed wedding. Our wedding spaces have the potential to create an experience from the moment you step off the ferry onto our jetty for you and your guests.
STOWAWAY

Stowaway is our new boutique restaurant that has been inspired from the natural setting around the island. It is situated on the banks of the Keurbooms river overlooking the iconic Tsitsikamma Mountain Range. Our decks extend to the river banks providing you with the perfect and unique experience of what Stanley Island has to offer. This is the perfect venue to host your wedding reception.
SKI HUT

The Ski Hut is nestled on the banks of the Keurbooms River. This venue gives you the best of both worlds - nature at your feet and beautifully designed interior inspired by the surroundings. This is the perfect spot for the wedding ceremony. We also offer the opportunity to extend the space to the beach area which can host over one hundred people easily. The ski hut can be altered to suit your needs. The natural surroundings make it perfect for outdoor weddings. We also provide tent rental if you would like cover or would like to utilise this space as a reception area.
OLEA
20 - 100 pax
Olea or known as ironwood which stems from the beautiful sleepers used throughout Stanley Island. Olea, is our thatched lapa area that overlooks the lawns where our zebra graze. This is the perfect outdoor space for either an intimate wedding ceremony or reception.

PROPOSAL
A perfect setting for the perfect moment. Why not pop the question on the beach or up the river with a beautiful picnic basket or weekend away. Let's curate your moment.
YOGA
We have our very own yoga instructor who would love to come flow with you before your big day - help settle the nerves and start the day off right
DECOR
If you love our accommodation style. Why not look into our wedding decor. We do have array of decor, dried flowers, candles and runners to name a few which we offer at a fee. Please feel free to enquire more about it.
BOAT CRUISES
Start your special occasion with friends and family going on either a sundowner booze cruise or a breakfast boat trip up the tranquil Keurbooms river.
PICNIC
Have a picnic on arrival or after the wedding to reminisce about the night before. Each picnic basket comes with a selection of snacks. Enjoy exploring the island before or after the big day.
PLANNING
We will be a part of your process - every step of the way. We do provide additional services such as planning, design + decor. We have created a complete wedding manual to help you with your logistics of planning a wedding on Stanley Island.
PRE-WEDDING BRAAI
You will have the island to yourself. So spoil your guests with a relaxed braai to give everyone a chance to meet and greet before the big day.
BRIDAL GIFTING
Spoil your guests with a personalised, carefully curated and wrapped gifts from some of our local collabs.
DANCE FLOOR
We do have a wooden sheet dance floor - perfect to go with the overall decor theme. Please enquire if you would like to hire it out.
It is not included in the décor fee.
