Pets

We regret that pets are not allowed as this is a private nature reserve and home to a wide variety of wildlife.

Parking

We have a parking area available opposite the island adjacent to our main jetty that is manned during the day by a security guard with access control. As this is a public parking area for users of the river it is not guarded at night. We have not had any incidents related to petty crime but do have a secure parking with 24hr guards available @ R20 per night.

Ferry

Stanley Island has two full time ferry operators that take you across the river. They have a cellphone or ferry times can be pre-arranged. Our large ferry can take up to 16 guests and the smaller ferry 6 guests. After 10pm there is a R50 ferry charge but otherwise the ferry is free for residents of the island. Non-residents are charged R10pp per trip.

Dining

There are many fine restaurants available in Plettenberg Bay and dining on the island is available by prior arrangement. Please advise us of your intentions by 2pm so we can prepare the necessary ingredients. We can set up a special dinner anywhere on the island or one of our outdoor dining gazebo’s.

Bar

The island is fully licensed and we have an honesty bar for clients of the Island.

Laundry

There is a laundry facility on the island.

Check in times

Your room will be refreshed and ready for you at 14h00. Please phone us in advance to arrange the ferry for your arrival and feel free to use the Island facilities while you wait.

Check out times

You are requested to vacate your room by 10h00 as our housekeepers need to prepare the rooms for incoming guests.

Internet

Internet facilities are available in the main lodge with a wireless network for guests.

Activities

A variety of sporting equipment is availible from reception, this includes boule set, volleyball net and ball, fishing rods, boardgames, etc.
