Elephant sanctuary – the crags

Monkey Land – The crags

Monkey Land is the world’s first multi-species free-roaming primate sanctuary, renowned throughout the world for its rehabilitation work. Visitors are offered the opportunity to join a one-hour safari. Here you can except to see many species of monkeys, apes and lemurs living in our forested sanctuary. A great family outing suitable for all ages.

Birds of Eden – the crags

Is the largest single free-flight aviary in the world, and incorporates an indigenous forest with waterfalls and elevated walkways. Previous caged birds from every corner of the globe live here in free flight. This is not somewhere you want to rush through, so allow enough time to really soak up its splendour.  A great family outing suitable for all ages, be sure to bring along some comfortable shoes.

Plettenberg Bay game reserve – Bitou valley

The reserve offers 2000 hectares of indigenous beauty. Enjoy a safari through one of the largest game reserves in the Western Cape. Over 35 species of game and over 1000 animals the reserve offers a 2 hour open game drive or 2 hour horse safari to bring you a big 5 experience.

Plettenberg Bay angling club, on the opposite shore line to stanley Island offer boat hire. Take your own motor boat up the Keurbooms River Nature Reserve for the day or a few hours. Tranquil and beautiful Keurbooms River is safe for swimming, has braai and picnic facilities, sand beaches and spectacular scenery. Toilet facilities are available at Whiskey creek.

Qualified guides are on board to make sure that your trip is as informative as it is unforgettable. The boat stops on the naturally formed beach 5km up river were you are able to picnic, swim, take a stroll through the forest or just relax on the river beach before returning. The boat is licensed.

The first wine farm has pioneered vineyards in Plettenberg Bay. Sit in the vineyards with views of the Tsitsikamma mountains tasting cheeses, oysters, mezze, hot breads and award winning bubbly. Cellar open to public.
